Leash the Lid Bill (AB 925) - Helps caps stay with their bottles and become part of the recycling success story while keeping stray bottle caps out of our oceans and waterways. Evian, Arrowhead and Glaceau Smart Water have a limited number of products on the market that already meet this standard.
"Solar Highways" (AB 1030) - Right now our highways and waterways have significant extra land that can be used to generate energy. This bill paves the way for adding compatible renewable energy projects along California highways, on freeway sound walls, and on other state Department of Transportation properties.
Expand Local Government Net Metering Benefits to State Universities (AB 1031) – Allows state universities to lower electric bills by applying net metering benefits from installing solar and wind energy systems on campus. Also extends the net metering benefits to certain joint power authorities.
California Israel Clean Technology MOU (AB 1032) – Promotes collaboration by California and Israel for mutually beneficial development of clean technology, from innovations in renewable energy to water conservation, thereby bringing cutting edge clean technology from Israel to do business in California. Through this bill we were able to facilitate a letter of intent between California and Israel to expand collaboration on renewable energy research and business development. The letter was signed by Benjamin Ben Eliezer, Israel Minister of Industry, Trade, and Labor and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Not for Profit Solar Bill – Allows for a donor to take a tax credit for an installation on a non-profit facility in order to increase solar donations to non-profits.
Reusable Bag Stimulus – To reduce or suspend the tariff on polypropylene bags as they enter the country so as to significantly bring down the cost and encourage increased use of reusable bags.
